Stay at home bead-a-long “SISS”

(Stay Inside Stay Safe)

Are you ready for a free bead-a-long challenge? Get ready. You will get the instructions here piece by piece mostly in writing (if needed I will use drawings) but NO pictures of the finished piece what so ever. “the stay at home bead-a-long 2020” is a necklace I can tell you that much….. (interested??)

How it works?? (very simple)

- Make sure you have the materials on the supply list at home. (see above, Seedbeads are miyuki. I have used SB11A 4201, SB11B and SB15 456)

- Keep following the instructions that appear below. (like and share as much of this bead-a-long as possible so a lot of people can join the fun)

- I don't know all the details yet but we will figure it out along the way.... remember this is just for fun and basicly I am beading along with you since I don't have a finished necklace yet. (in my head it is finished and it looks great)

- After de bead-a-long is over the "Normal" instructions will come available as a free pattern.

Instructions Part 1

Make a Cubic RAW strip using SB11B about 16 inch (40 cm) this is to short but you can make the necklace at your own size later on.

Instructions Part 2

As I told you earlier I am beading along with you so I don't have the complete necklace ready at this moment. So please take notice that you might need a little more (1 or 2 gramms) SB11A and SB11B than stated on the material list.

Today we bezel the Rivoli (I am in need of a little bling)

- Make a strip of FLAT RAW of 15 units and close the strip with unit number 16. Use SB11B for this strip.

- Exit one SB11B at the side and pick up 1xSB11A go through the next SB11B. Repeat this the entire round.

- Exit one SB11A at the side and pick up 1xSB15 go through the next SB11A. Repeat this the entire round.

- Put in the rivoli 14mm and repeat the above also at the backside.

- After you finish. Tie of the tail thread with several half-hitch knots around existing thread, and trim excess. If your working thread is long enough you can leave it on to use later.

Instructions Part 3

- Drawing 1: Make with SB11A 10 cubes (CRAW). Turn your work and make an additional 11 cubes. Connect the 2 ends with 1 cube so now you have a drop shape made with 22 cubes.

- Drawing 2: Exit a SB11A at the side (outside). Pick up 1xSB11B and go through the next SB11A repeat this the entire round. Repeat this also at the backside. (do not pull to tight make sure the drop stays flat)

- Drawing 2: Exit a SB11A at the side (inside). Pick up 1xSB15 and go through the next SB11A repeat this the entire round. Repeat this also at the backside. (do not pull to tight make sure the drop stays flat). Do not put a SB15 at the inside of the point

- Drawing 3: Exit a SB11A at the side (outside) pick up 3xSB15 and go back through the same SB11A (this makes a circle) repeat this with all the SB11A at the outside. Exit a SB11A at the back (outside) Pick up 1xSB15 go through the middle SB15 (point). Pick up 1xSB15 and go back through the SB11A. Repeat this the entire round (backside).

- Drawing 4: Side view.

- After you finish. Tie of the tail thread with several half-hitch knots around existing thread, and trim excess. If your working thread is long enough you can leave it on to use later.

Instructions Part 4

Repeat Instructions part 3 (Yes we need one more)

Instructions Part 5

Today we bezel the Chaton

- Make a strip of FLAT RAW of 9 units and close the strip with unit number 10. Use SB11B for this strip.

- Exit one SB11B at the side and pick up 1xSB11A go through the next SB11B. Repeat this the entire round.

- Exit one SB11A at the side and pick up 1xSB15 go through the next SB11A. Don’t pick up a SB15 and go through the next SB11A  Repeat this the entire round. In this round there are 5 SB15.

- Put in the chaton 8mm and repeat the above also at the backside.

First part of the clasp.

- Take the CRAW strip made in the first part (Instructions Part 1)

- The horizontal strip in the drawing is the piece you already made.

- At one end of the strip make with SB11B 4 cubes at one side and 4 cubes at the other side. Now you have a long strip with a little T at one side.

- Exit a SB11B at the side. Pick up 1xSB11A go through the next SB11B. Repeat this as shown in the picture also at the backside. NOTE: Don’t add a SB11A in the corners.

Putting al the madness together.....

- Attach the CH8 to the RIV14 with a cube (CRAW) using SB11B. (drawing 1)

Pick up SB11B and go back through the SB11B at the blue arrow (drop shaped, beige) (drawing 4)

- Now the pendant is ready. Make the necklace at the desired length (this is made in the first part) as soon as the necklace is at the desired length attach the 4th drop shape at the end (not the end where the T shape is). Exit the SB11B at the end of the strip pick up 1xSB11B go through the SB11B at the point of the drop shape. Pick up 1xSB11B and go through the SB11B you started from. Repeat this also at the back. Connect the 3SB11B at the 2 sides.

- Connect the pendant to the necklace. Exit the 5th SB11B of the right drop shape counted from the point. Determine the center of the necklace. Count 5 cubes to the right. Attach the 2 beads with a flat RAW using BIC3 at the front and 2SB11B at the back. Repeat this also at the left drop shaped.

-  Tie of all the threads with several half-hitch knots around existing thread, and trim excess. This is the end of the SISS bead-a-long. I hope you had fun and you are happy with your necklace.

I wish you all the best and stay safe!
